Your wallet keeps freeze authority, which is visible on chain from the first block — anyone inspecting the token can see it can be frozen. The retention date is recorded in this browser only and is not enforced: nothing stops you locking holders after it passes, so it is a commitment rather than a rule. Revoking freeze authority later is the only way to make the unlock provable.
